Parent Student Handbook

 

Dear Los Angeles Unified Families,

 

It is with much enthusiasm that I welcome you to the 2024-2025 school year. The beginning of the year is an exciting time for parents and students to reflect on the possibilities ahead.

 

Through our ongoing collaboration with families, Los Angeles Unified has accomplished a great deal. We continue to see increased student attendance, decreased chronic absenteeism, and a reversal in the learning loss associated with the COVID-19 pandemic. Academic improvements have also been realized for many of our most vulnerable populations. We remain committed to providing each student with the knowledge and skills needed to reach their full potential.

 

The Parent/Student Handbook outlines the policies and procedures that guide student life across Los Angeles Unified and the resources available to support you and your child. We have dedicated ourselves to providing programs and resources that will benefit every student, and we encourage you to familiarize yourself with this important document.

 

As a parent/guardian, you are a vital partner in your child’s education, and I encourage you to actively participate in school and District functions. You may also stay connected to Los Angeles Unified by downloading the LAUSD Mobile App 3.0 on your mobile device and by following the District on social media (X, Facebook, Instagram, etc.). For more information regarding specific resources and activities at your child's school, please contact the school directly and ensure your most updated contact information is on file.
